This unique area, neighbouring the river, will welcome festival participants with a great selection of wines and a delicate menu. Located on Quai Renaud 2, at the Bassin Louise, the Bistro SAQ / Wines of France is facing the mega projection on the history of Quebec City, The Image Mill, created by Robert Lepage, one of the key animations of the festivities. After Burgundy and Alsace wines, it is now the turn for Bordeaux wines to be presented at the Bistro. Then, the Côtes du Rhône wines will be presented and Languedoc-Roussillon will conclude the selection with its sun-filled wines.
Wines of Bordeaux: treating ourselves with affordable discoveries!
From July 17th to August 14th, Bordeaux wines will be presented at the Bistro SAQ/Vins de France. Bordeaux…57 appellations, charming in their own way, with their authenticity. The winemakers from Bordeaux know how to create the perfect harmony from the grape varieties they choose. They produce wines that distinguish themselves with their great quality and accessibility!
Côtes du Rhône wines: for all your best food pairings!
Côtes du Rhône wines will be presented at the Bistro from August 15th to September 3rd. Well-known for the great variety it offers; this wine region includes lots of wine types, either with robust red wine, strong dry white or fruity red. For a barbecue, a poultry meal or of course for the perfect match with cheese, it is clear that Côtes du Rhône wines will enhance most of your summer dishes!
Languedoc-Roussillon: an aromatic waltz of three tempos
From September 4th to September 8th, the Bistro SAQ/Vins de France will showcase Languedoc-Roussillon, with its wines gorged by the sun! Bordered by the Mediterranean Sea and flooded with sun, this region gathers three wine families of great quality: Languedoc, Roussillon and pays d’Oc.
Moreover, at Grande Place of the Espace 400e, an Express Bistro SAQ / Wines of France is open, every day, from noon to 11 p.m., and features a variety of French and Quebecer wines. On its mezzanine, a Lounge SAQ / Wines of France is offering a special menu and high-end wines, available by reservation. This lounge is also open to the public every Wednesday night.
This summer, enjoy the festivities of Quebec 2008 and savour a glass of wine, bite into the heart of celebration-central and celebrate your roots by visiting the Bistro SAQ / Wines of France.
